Katy Perry recently teamed up with the country superstar Thomas Rhet for the song”where we started“, which they played on the american idol final. Although it’s unlikely she’ll ever make a full country album, Katy says she could take inspiration from country music for a future project.

Asked about creating a country record, Katy said in addition“I might go back to my roots a little bit more with this singer-songwriter side. I spent so much time in Nashville laying my musical foundations, so I would like to continue on this path.

Katy also said in addition that over the years she was sent “a million country songs”, but did not record them, although some of them, she says, became “massive”. However, she felt that the Rhett duo were “the ones I had to start with to step into this world”.

Why? Because, she notes, “The story of this song is really beautiful… It’s about a relationship and where you started and if you ever have any doubts about that, look how far you I have felt that so much, even in my own relationship – it has been a beautiful journey.

Katy also clarified to in addition that despite reports that she moved permanently to Kentucky, she only stayed there for a few months because her fiancé, Orlando Bloomwas shooting a movie there.

“I loved it. It was so beautiful to see the heart of America,” she said. “Also just being ‘mom’ every day, all day — I love it.”
