Today Show hosts sing Country Roads on Jimmy Fallon

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Fans of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon heard a West Virginia anthem performed by familiar faces from NBC on Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s Tonight Show guests were Today Show presenters Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. As Jimmy pointed out, both talented news icons are inductees into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame, but that wasn’t the only skill they demonstrated.

After the two talked about their families, spring break and polar lions, Jimmy warned them, “I was looking for something different that no one has ever told you about, and I found something very interesting.

“You’re both musically gifted, musically gifted.”

Despite Kotb and Guthrie’s nods and apologies, Jimmy pulled out two guitars.

After a slight hesitation, they started playing and began to sing “Country Roads” by John Denver.

Guthrie and Kotb claimed they only knew a few chords and hadn’t played in six months, but the duo still received cheers from the audience.
