National chart-topping act comes to Morganton

The CoMMA Performing Arts Center will host Lonestar on stage on Thursday, October 27. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50-$55 for adults and $45 for students (plus sales tax).

Not all musicians have the opportunity to revisit and even potentially improve upon their greatest hits. But on the upcoming album “TEN to 1”, award-winning band Lonestar – Dean Sams (keyboards, acoustic guitar, backing vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitarist, backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Drew Womack (lead vocals, guitar) — take a fresh look at their 10 chart-topping country songs.

This streak began in 1996 with the band’s second rock single, “No News”, and continued the following year with “Come Cryin’ to Me” and “Everything’s Changed”. The band’s 1999 quadruple-platinum album, Lonely Grill, spawned four No. 1 hits (including the beloved worldwide hit “Amazed”) and established Lonestar as music’s preeminent pop-country group – a status that they would retain into the 2000s and beyond.

The group has won numerous musical accolades, including the Academy Of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group in 1996, Single and Song of the Year in 2000, and Humanitarian of the Year in 2002. They have also won the Country Music Association Vocal Group. the Year and International Artist Achievement Award in 2001.

In total, Lonestar has sold over 10.5 million records since its formation. With the release of “TEN to 1,” the band members are full of gratitude for what they have already achieved and excited for what the future holds.
