Hanover Festival to offer live music, vendors to guests
HANOVER, Virginia – A farm in Hanover is bringing music to the fields for people this summer.
“It’s a great community event if you’re single, it’s fantastic, if you’re in a relationship, it’s fantastic, if you’re a family, it’s fantastic, we really have something for everyone” , says Emmie Croxford with the Farm to Table Festival.
And that something is the Hanover Farm-to-Table Music Festival at the Plant Farm.
“This is the first time we are doing it, it’s really exciting. We’re bringing ten local bands to an outdoor festival experience and it’s going to be really great. We have food trucks, we have vendors, it’s gonna be, we have a kids zone, kids under 12 are free so it’s a really great experience for the whole family, ”said Croxford.
And speaking of family, the 300-acre farm originally built in 1902 is now run by five generations of families, making the most of a family treasure. But back to the music.
“So we’ve got everything from 80s band and cover band to alternative rock band to country music, it’s really an ability for us to find a type of music that appeals to everyone. the world, we have it all, ”said Croxford.
Participants can bring their own equipment to make themselves comfortable.
“They can absolutely bring lawn chairs, bring blankets, it’s a working farm, so you might even see chickens and goats, you will see all of these funny things,” said Croxford.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Ricky Johnson Foundation, which provides toys for children during the holiday season. The festival takes place every Friday evening from May 28 to June 25. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., advance tickets are $ 15, $ 20 at the door, VIP advance pass is $ 60, and $ 75 at the door.
