Gandhinagar, Thursday: Another historic achievement under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has been added to the glorious history of Gujarat which is the model of development of the country. In the Logistics Ease Across Different Status Index-LEADS-2022 released Thursday by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Government of India, Gujarat has been ranked in the category of best performing states.

According to the LEADS report announced by Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal during PM Gatishakti’s National Master Plan Workshop held in Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi, Gujarat retained its position in the advanced states category for the fourth consecutive times in the efficiency of the movement of goods.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has commended the concerned departments for another successful step in the direction of Atmanirbhar Gujarat towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Gujarat has already attained the number one spot in the LEADS index in the three years 2018, 2019 and 2021. This year, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Government of India announced the list of states involved in various categories in based on performance instead of ranking. the states.

This LEADS Index is prepared by the Government of India by obtaining the views and opinions of stakeholders involved in the logistics sector in various states and union territories of the country and conducting an online survey with the aim of promote an integrated logistics ecosystem in the country. . This year, over 6,500 opinions were received from approximately 2,100 respondents across the country. A performance rating based on classification was given this year in LEADS 2022. Gujarat secured their top spot in the achievers category by achieving over 90% rating.

It should be noted here that Gujarat alone carries 40% of the country’s freight with a 1600 km long coastline. Gujarat has built a comprehensive logistics infrastructure value chain with an extensive network of roads leading to remote areas, DMIC, DFC, Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway, in-state jetty development and rail connectivity projects. Gujarat is also actively contributing to the national PM Gati Shakti master plan.

The integrated logistics and logistics parks policy, in line with the proactive policies of the state government, well-driven infrastructure and services by a responsive government, gives new impetus to the logistics network ecosystem nationwide. ‘State. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the government is enhancing the ease of logistics in Gujarat through projects such as road upgrades, dual gauge conversion of railway lines and the Taranga-Ambaji railway line.
