Country music star Ashley McBryde receives 2022 CMA International Achievement Award

COUNTRY MUSIC STAR ASHLEY McBRYDE RECEIVES
2022 CMA INTERNATIONAL ARTIST ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The CMA presented its 2022 CMA International Award for Excellence in the Arts to the country music star and three-time CMA award winner Ashley McBryde at events surrounding “The 56th Annual CMA Awards” last week. McBryde was surprised by the industry honor backstage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena ahead of her CMA Awards rehearsal by CMA’s chief executive, Sarah Trahernand Milly OlykanCMA Vice-President, International Relations and Development.

“Since the first time I had the chance to play overseas when C2C tried my luck in 2018, I fell in love with the international fans,” McBryde said. “I have told them time and time again that as long as they keep showing up, I will keep showing up. That is still true today. I am honored and so proud to receive this award and I promise to continue to be the best ambassador I can be for country music around the world.

“Ashley has had an eye on developing her international presence since the start of her career,” says Trahern. “She is a true example of an artist committed to building an international audience, and we are more than delighted to present her with this year’s award.”

“During several international tours, Ashley has prioritized various promotional opportunities while traveling in numerous territories, from presenting on radio shows to appearing in films,” says Olykan. “With international travel on hiatus for an extended period due to the pandemic, Ashley made a point of crossing the pond as soon as borders reopened, performing earlier this year at UK festival C2C: Country to Country and in headlining her own tour there in May. We are so happy to see her rewarded with this honour.

The CMA International Artist Achievement Award recognizes the outstanding achievement of a United States-based artist who has demonstrated the most significant creative growth, development, and promotion of the country music industry outside of the United States during of the eligibility period. After performing at C2C in March 2022, McBryde embarked on an eight-date headlining tour, selling out shows in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Brighton. McBryde also performed at C2C festivals in 2018 and 2019, as well as at CMC Rocks in Australia in 2019, where she will return in 2023. She also joined Luke Combs as support on his UK tour in 2018 before her first UK headlining tour of 2019.
