Alan Jackson surprises fans with Silverbelly Whiskey announcement

Alan Jackson surprised fans with the announcement of his own signature whiskey, Silverbelly Whiskey, on Wednesday morning (June 22).

Silverbelly Whiskey takes its name from the Country Music Hall of Famer’s signature cowboy hat (while many think the hat is white, it’s actually a color called Silverbelly) and is a new premium spirit distilled exclusively for – and hand selected by – Jackson himself.

The just-announced Silverbelly whiskey was created in partnership with Silver Screen Bottling Co. and DSP-KY-10 and is available in 750ml and 91 proof bottles with 45.5% alc/vol.

A press release describes Silverbelly Whiskey as “having an aroma of brown sugar, sweet apple, cherry, honey and a sweet, spicy taste; bright autumn fruit with a light, silky texture on the mid-palate; sweet caramelized oak tones mingle with a savory woody spice on the finish.

Jackson celebrated the announcement by sharing a video from his Lower Broadway bar, AJ’s Good Time Bar, showing him and a friend dancing and singing along to Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Whole Lot Of Shakin’ Going On.”

“I opened the first bottle of Silverbelly; that’s what happened,” Jackson shared alongside the clip. “Silverbelly – for good times.”

Silverbelly Whiskey is now available in stores across the state of Tennessee, with other states to follow. People out of state volunteer and buy Silverbelly Whiskey online, with pre-orders available now HERE.

During Jackson’s career, the country icon has earned 35 hits, multiple multi-platinum albums, and a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.

He has also won dozens of awards including the GRAMMY Awards, CMA Awards, ACM Awards, Billboard Awards and many more.

To celebrate his iconic career, Silverbelly Whiskey lot numbers will reflect each of Jackson’s No. 1 hit songs over the years, making each bottle an instant collector’s item. The first batch of Silverbelly Whiskey is named after Jackson’s first hit song, “Here In The Real World” from the 1990s.

Jackson’s daughter, best-selling author Mattie Jackson Selecman, got her first taste of whiskey and shared her thoughts on her father’s new brand of whiskey.

“Made in honor of the classic bourbon-style whiskey, Silverbelly tips its hat in the heart of this country,” Selecman said. “Its smooth texture and medium-light body make it perfect for sipping clean at the end of a long day or for a festive toast, mixed with your favorite Old Fashioned or Manhattan cocktail. With a subtle kiss of oak and flavors classics of caramel, spiced apples and toasted brown sugar, Silverbelly is as American as whiskey comes – a real taste of homegrown.

Jackson will soon embark on his Last Call: One More For The Road Tour. The trek, presented by Silverbelly Whiskey, will begin Friday, June 24 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The tour marks Jackson’s first outing since revealing he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disorder last fall.

“I’ve always looked up to my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride who played as much as they wanted, for as long as they could,” Jackson previously shared. “I always thought I would like to do this, and I would like as long as my health allows,” he notes, adding with a smile, “I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I come in your direction, come see me…”

Last call: one more for the Road Tour will visit 30 cities across the United States before concluding on October 8 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena. The tour includes stops in several cities that the three-time CMA Artist of the Year hasn’t visited in years.

Jackson will donate $1 for every ticket sold at CMT Research Foundation. Plus, $1 will be matched by a generous group of donors and CMTRF Board members.
